Uncrowned Guard
These updates include a new "[Discussion]" prefix for forum topics, enhanced forum categorization, and a trial partnership with Geniuslink. The introduction of the "[Discussion]" prefix on forum topics is a strategic move to differentiate between frontpage news articles and related forum discussions. This change is especially beneficial in enhancing search engine visibility and clarity for users navigating between articles and forum threads in blocks like similar content blocks. It still maintains the continuity and unity of conversations, as comments on articles and forum replies have always been part of the same discussion. In an effort to streamline the user experience, Uncrowned Addiction has updated its News forum with additional sections, allowing users to select or deselect topics according to their interests. While the "In The News" section will continue to display all news content, users can now navigate more efficiently to the subforums that align with their specific interests. Furthermore, Uncrowned Empire is excited to announce a trial partnership with Geniuslink. This collaboration will transform links posted on our sites into potential affiliate links. The Geniuslink service is unobtrusive and will not affect the daily use of the site. It aims to provide a revenue stream to support the platform without relying heavily on advertisements. This method is aligned with practices used by popular platforms like YouTube and major news sites. Importantly, it respects user privacy, without tracking your web usage or purchase details. Geniuslink will merely attach an affiliate tag to any Amazon, Google Store, iTunes, or Microsoft link that is posted on our sites without an existing affiliate tag. Why did we choose this service? First, it does not use browser trackers like more well known services (e.g. Vigilinks) that follow you around on the web. It merely adds the tag that the service would add themselves so for example, an Amazon link is completely handled by Amazon Affiliate once you click it on our site. Second, it allows users to post their own affiliate links in blogs and topics and will not override content creators trying to make use of our platforms. We are committed to enhancing the user experience while ensuring the sustainability of our platforms. These updates and the partnership with Geniuslink reflect our dedication to providing a seamless and enjoyable experience for our community, without compromising the quality of our content or the privacy of our users. Our team invites feedback and inquiries regarding these changes and assures its community of continuous efforts to provide the best possible digital experience.
