  2. I run mobilegamesguide.com, an independent fan site for mobile and browser game guides. This post shares the first-week plan I publish for new Hero Wars players. It is my own site content, disclosed up front.
Hero Wars punishes messy starts. The guide on my site lists ten moves in order so a new account grows faster than most. Here is the short version, based on that page (updated October 23, 2026).
First, pick the right version. Alliance is the mobile app. Dominion Era is the browser game. Codes, servers and progress are separate, so choose the one you will open every day.
Second, redeem free codes before the first fight. Early resources compound. A few extra upgrades in week one save hours later.
Third, push the campaign. Campaign clears unlock most modes. Come back to older missions later to farm soul stones and gear.
Fourth, choose one damage type. Physical and magic teams want different gear. Mixing both early is the most common reason new accounts stall.
Fifth, build five heroes, not fifteen. Level, gear and evolve a core of five. Add a sixth only when that core is strong.
Sixth, never let energy sit at the cap. Energy refills over time and stops when full. Spend it before you log off, ideally on campaign drops your core needs.
Seventh, finish daily quests. They give XP, gold and emeralds for a few minutes of play and keep a free-to-play account moving.
Eighth, join an active guild early. Guilds unlock guild wars, Asgard raids and guild shops. Leave a dead guild without regret.
Ninth, climb Arena a little every day. You do not need first place. You need daily fights and an updated defense team.
Tenth, start titans before you think you need them. They unlock later and level separately. Stick to one element at first.
Do not spend emeralds on shop refreshes or timer speeds in the first days. Save them for lasting power. Skip leveling every new hero. Keep the daily streak even on busy days.
